FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS

Why is it called “electric oven bakeshop”?

Because our oven is electric and not just because it plugs into the wall.

We want the things we bake—from classics like out-of-this-world brownies and chocolate chip cookies to weekly nostalgia bombs like oatmeal creme pies and kudos treats—to be bold and fun and, hopefully, the best darned cookie you’ve ever had.

CAN I VISIT ELECTRIC OVEN BAKESHOP IN PERSON?

Not exactly. Electric Oven Bakeshop is run from our licensed kitchen and we don’t have a permanent retail location. You can find us at the South Portland Farmers’ Market each Sunday, from 10AM-2PM. We also make appearances at other markets and events, and our cookies are popping up at some of the finer local establishments. Check out the Find Us page and follow us on social media to find out where we are!

HOW BIG ARE THE COOKIES AND BARS?

Big enough to share (but you might not want to)! Each cookie is approximately four-and-a-half inches across and bars are about four inches square.

Everything is homemade and the bars are cut by hand. While we work hard to be consistent, some difference in size and shape is possible.

HOW LONG DO THE COOKIES LAST?

Cookies can be stored at room temperature for about a week—if you need to keep them for longer, stick them in the freezer! When you’re ready to eat them, just let the cookies thaw on the counter. You may see some blooming, or cloudiness, on chocolates or ganaches, but that won’t affect the taste.

DO THESE COOKIES CONTAIN ALLERGENS?

Yes. Most of the cookies here contain some combination of wheat, milk, egg, soy, and nuts. Allergens are listed on each cookie order page and on the labels.

Please note that all of our cookies are produced in a home kitchen that also processes wheat, milk, egg, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, and occasionally shellfish and fish.

DO YOU SELL YOUR COOKIES WHOLESALE?

We sure do! Please reach out through the Wholesale Inquiry form with some information on your business and what you’re looking for, and we’ll be in touch soon.

can you accommodate special orders?

We’re not caterers, but we can do large(ish) orders. If you’re in need of a bunch of giant cookies, send us a message through the contact form.

WHAT IS YOUR SHIPPING POLICY?

Your cookies are baked with care and we don’t want them languishing in a pile of boxes at some shipping warehouse, somewhere. To best ensure quality, orders must be placed by midnight on Wednesday to ship the following Monday (and occasionally Tuesday, if it’s the busy season).

We ship using USPS Priority Mail or UPS 2nd Day Air. Important note: if you are sending cookies to a P.O. Box, you must select USPS delivery at checkout.
