FAQs
CAN I VISIT ELECTRIC OVEN BAKESHOP IN PERSON?
Not exactly. Electric Oven Bakeshop is run from my home kitchen and I do not have a permanent retail location. That said, I do have a presence at the South Portland Farmers’ Market each Sunday, from 10AM until 2PM. I also make appearances at other farmers’ markets and events. Follow me on social media to find out where I am!
do you do special orders?
I’m not a caterer, but I can do large(ish) orders! If you’re in need of a bunch of giant cookies, send me a message through the Contact form and I’ll be in touch.
WHY ARE YOU SOLD OUT OF THAT COOKIE I WANT?
Electric Oven Bakeshop is a very small operation with one employee: me! To ensure the consistently high quality of the cookies I bake, I need to limit the number of orders I process each week. If your cookie is sold out, please check back soon.
HOW BIG ARE THE COOKIES AND BARS?
Big. Each round cookie is approximately 4.5" in diameter and brownies and blondies are approximately 4 x 4”. The rainbow cookies are roughly 2.5 x 4 x 0.75”. Cookies and bars weigh around 4 oz each.
The cookies are homemade and the bars are cut by hand. While I work hard to be consistent, some difference in size is possible.
CAN I FREEZE THESE COOKIES FOR LATER?
Cookies can be stored at room temperature for about a week or frozen for up to three months. You may see some blooming, or cloudiness, on chocolates, but that won’t affect the taste.
DO THESE COOKIES CONTAIN ALLERGENS?
Yes. Most of the cookies here contain some combination of wheat, milk, egg, soy, and nuts. Allergens are listed on each cookie order page and on the labels.
These cookies are produced in a home kitchen that processes wheat, milk, egg, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, and occasionally shellfish and fish.
HOW DO I GET MY HANDS ON SOME OF THESE COOKIES?
Electric Oven Bakeshop is at the South Portland Farmers’ Market each Sunday from 10AM until 2PM, and are sold at the Pavilion Grill at Maine Medical Center. Please follow me on social media to see where else I might pop up!
If you can’t come see me in person, you can order cookies to be shipped anywhere UPS or USPS delivers in the continental United States. Please see my Shipping Policy for more details.
ORDER PROCESSING and shipping
I bake in small batches to ensure quality and avoid loss. That means there will be a bit of a delay until cookies are ready to go out the door. Upon check out, you will select a window for your preferred delivery.
I ship using UPS 2nd Day Air or USPS Priority Mail on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Please note that this is not a day-definite service, and I cannot guarantee delivery on a certain date (I will try my best).
Once your order has left my kitchen and is in the possession of UPS/USPS, I am not responsible for delays or damage in shipping.
REFUNDS
Due to the size of this very small business, the need to purchase ingredients up front, and the perishable nature of my products, Electric Oven Bakeshop does not offer refunds. If changes are required, please contact me as soon as possible.
